Pearlescent pigments can be used in bold or subtle ways. On white or light backgrounds, they are less visible; on dark surfaces their reflective quality is stronger. This set was designed for restorers and conservators who work with gilded objects. However, the paints themselves are the same formulas as our other pans, so they are suitable for any painter that likes these colors.

Kremer watercolors are all made by hand in the Color-Mill in the Allgäu region. Our pure, high quality pigments are bound in a home made medium based on gum arabic and honey.
