Perrindo Maroon, PR 179

Perrindo Marron is very fine pigment and difficult to wet in aqueous techniques. For the use in watercolor, tempera or acrylic paint, it should be grinded carefully. Depending on the binder, the color tone can sometimes be more reddish or bluish; for example, watercolor shows a warmer brown-red tone, while the pigment in egg tempera shows a cooler tone. Even in various acrylic dispersions, the pigment shows this particular characteristic. The transparent pigment is easy to grind in oil, but dries slowly.
