SKU:46200.12100.136
Color Index Code: PW 6 - Pigment White 6
Titanium dioxide TiO2. Bright cold white.
Introduced in the 1920s, Titanium White quickly became the most widely used pigment in the world, and for good reason: it is an absolute bully on the palette.
Our Titanium White is the Rutile crystal modification—the most stable, durable, and highly refractive white pigment available. It possesses a massive tinting strength and overwhelming opacity. A mere pin-drop of this pigment will drastically shift and consume the colors around it. Unlike Zinc or Lead whites, Titanium White is chemically inert, non-toxic, and will never yellow or blacken over time.
Handling Note: Because of its microscopic particle size and aggressive tinting strength, use this white with intent. It mulls beautifully into oil, acrylic, and watercolor binders, providing a brilliant, stark, and perfectly opaque foundation.
- Extremely Lightfastness (8)
- Opacity: very opaque
- Suitability: Acrylics, Cement / Tadelakt, Ceramic, Lime / Fresco, Oil, Silicate binder, Waterglass, Tempera, Watercolor / Gouache
Tests consistently show that titanium white (#46200) contains < 1% particles with an aerodynamic diameter < 10 µm and therefore does not meet the criteria for classification.
