SHIPPING POLICY: NEW YORK PIGMENT CO.

1. Processing & Fulfillment

All orders for in-stock items are processed within one business day. Orders are not processed or shipped on weekends or major holidays. If we are experiencing a high volume of orders, shipments may be delayed by a few days; we will notify you via email if a significant delay occurs.

2. Shipping Rates & Estimates

Shipping charges for your order will be calculated and displayed at checkout. We primarily ship via UPS or USPS.

  • Standard Shipping: [3-7] Business Days (overnight in the tri-state area if you place the order before 3PM*)
  • Expedited Shipping: [1-3] Business Days

** Special Watercolor Shipping Rate: pay $5 whenever you order only watercolor pans. This is an incentive to restock your watercolor set whenever you're close to running out. This rate does not apply to empty watercolor trays or watercolor sets, just the individual pans. 

3. Special Offer: Free Backorder Shipping

We offer a unique shipping perk for our community of artists and makers. If an item you want is currently out of stock, you can still secure it via backorder.

  • The Perk: If you place an order for at least one in-stock item, any backordered items in that same transaction will ship to you with FREE shipping costs once they arrive.
  • How it works: We will ship your in-stock items immediately. Your backordered items will follow in a second shipment as soon as they are available, at no additional shipping cost to you.
  • ETA: The estimated time of arrival for backordered pigments is typically 4-6 weeks, though this can vary based on production and raw material sourcing.

4. Temperature & Environmental Sensitivity

Pigments and liquid dispersions can be sensitive to extreme environmental conditions.

  • Winter/Summer Shipping: During periods of extreme heat or freezing cold, New York Pigment Co. may temporarily hold your shipment for 1-2 days to ensure the product does not degrade in a delivery vehicle or warehouse.
  • Customer Responsibility: Please track your package closely and bring it indoors immediately upon delivery. We are not responsible for product damage caused by exposure to the elements after the package has been delivered (e.g., left in a mailbox or on a porch).

5. Shipping Restrictions & P.O. Boxes

  • We currently ship to addresses within the United States.
  • Certain hazardous or heavy pigments may have restricted shipping methods (e.g., Ground Only). This will be noted at checkout.
  • We do not ship to P.O. Boxes for certain bulk pigment orders due to carrier restrictions.

6. Damaged, Lost, or Stolen Packages

New York Pigment Co. is not liable for any products damaged or lost during shipping. Once the package is transferred to the carrier, the risk of loss passes to you. However, please contact us immediately, and we will push UPS or USPS for answers on your behalf as well. At times, the carrier’s system takes a few minutes or hours to update the delivery estimate.

  • Damages: If you received your order damaged, please take a picture of the damage inside the box whenever possible. Email us at shop@newyorkpigment.com. We will contact the shipment carrier to file a claim. UPS typically initiates an investigation. We will keep you posted with updates. Save all packaging materials and damaged goods before contacting us.
  • Missing Packages: If your tracking says "Delivered" but you cannot locate the package, please contact your local carrier hub immediately.
