Linseed Stand Oil is heated without oxygen. This process prevents oxidation, so as the oil thickens, it’s drying time is somewhat slowed. Stand oil is very weather resistant and dries to a glossy film. It is suitable for mediums and has good leveling properties, and yellows to a lesser degree than cold pressed or refined oil. Note: Oil can form centers of turbidity over prolonged storage, though this has no adverse effect on the quality of the medium.
