Covellite

Copper-2-sulfide, CuS, metallic-blue shiny platelet-shaped crystals, with gray-black streak, one of the several copper sulfides, shows different crystal colors depending on the environment, violet to reddish. For copper smelting, the ore must either be roasted or converted to water-soluble copper sulfate by bacterial decomposition.
